[en] The use of tiles in interior design for bathrooms began in the seventies with the objective of trying to increase the amount of light in such spaces. In times gone by, tiles were also used on the walls of bars and cafes and from there came the idea to use them in bathrooms in our own homes, especially smaller tiles. As from the year 2000, such designs fell out of fashion, but they are now making a comeback and are right back in fashion, adding personality and elegance to all types of bathrooms.
Smaller tiles designed in this way are particularly in fashion, either plain ones or using them to create a bicolour mosaic. They don’t always have to cover the whole wall, it is also fashionable to combine them on walls or parts of walls that are completely plain and smooth. The type of tiles that you choose will also affect your choice of knobs and handles to add to your bathroom furniture. At Viefe® we have a great variety to choose from in terms of size, colour or materials. In bathrooms of a smaller size, we recommend using knobs of a smaller size, either in neutral colours or black or white. In bathrooms with a rustic design, wooden handles or those with a vintage style will fit perfectly. In bathrooms with a minimalist design and white tiles, it is best to opt for built-in handles which have such a subtle design that they can hardly be seen.
