[en] During a large part of the twentieth century, terrazzo was used for interior pavements due to it being highly resistant and its low price. At the end of the twentieth century it fell into disuse and just as it seemed to be completely forgotten, it has made a remarkable comeback to become one of the star materials in modern interior design. It is made of a mixture of marble, natural stone and pigments which create unique, original designs depending on the what composition of stone and marble is used.
It was originally used for floors, but we can now find tarrazzo everywhere, on kitchen and bathroom units, on bath and shower walls, on table tops, lamps, auxiliary furniture, combined with wallpaper and also in combination with rugs and other textile complements. The desire to use terrazzo has moved into all areas of household decoration and promises to stay for a long time. At Viefe we love this material and we have the perfect knobs and handles to complement it in whatever style you may find it.
